In my studies I have noticed that there are many different approaches to the
scriptures, religion, faith, etc. People have different principles they
understand to be true and thus have different foundations upon which their faith
system is built.
Sometimes people claim or seem to have great knowledge about
the Scriptures. They may be able to discuss all the historical data about the
Christian Faith. They may have skills in the original languages, be able to
divide all the words and phrases into proper formation according to proper
However, I have observed also that this wonderful ability can
become an obstacle to understanding the message intended by the author. There
are some simple facts that are true. I believe that anyone can understand the
message of the Bible and, with that understanding, have hope in facing all of
life's ups and downs.
There is a creator who is God in heaven.
This God has three persons manifested to the creation as the
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
God revealed Himself through divine revelation.
This revelation came by the Holy Spirit to mankind through
the prophets who were to proclaim the word of God.
The purpose of this revelation was to inform mankind about
the wisdom of God.
The goal of this wisdom is to generate faith, and this faith
is what gives hope of eternal life.
The message is clear, simple, understandable and yet
profound. To those who will believe, it gives birth to eternal life. But, to
those who will not believe….
